Cocktail – Grand Margarita
Tequila, Grand Marnier, lime, salt
Date Visited – Nov 2015
Another bar that’s long gone, to be replaced with a designer handbag shop, nestled in among Gucci and Hugo Boss. I suspected this before my arrival in Mexico but still trekked up and down Presidente Masaryk to make absolutely sure, before letting Drinks International’s 50 Best Bars guide me to an alternative. In 20th place is Licoreria Limantour, with two locations I opted for the original in Roma, a neighbourhood bar with open frontage (open bar, open heart). The drink choice was easy, their signature Margarita al Pastor incorporating the flavours of al pastor tacos, the predominant one being coriander. I loved this place, it has everything a discerning drinker needs; good cocktails, friendly and informative bartenders, and tacos!! I stayed for three cocktails, the next choice being a Mezcal Negroni, pre-mixed and served in a “guaje”, a fruit casing used by farmers as a water bottle. After much Tequila talk it was time to call it a night, so bartender Fernando called me a cab, no sitios situated here.
