19. Dragon-i – Hong Kong

Cocktail – Dragon’s Fire
Absolut Mandarin Vodka, Cointreau, lime cranberry

Date Visited – Jan 2010

Thanks to an AirAsia £0 flight sale SE Asia is next on the destination list, starting with my pink lady Jennie Yau in her adopted home of Hong Kong. We’re certainly gonna party like it’s my Birthday – cos it is! It’s nice having a bar guide for a change, all the hard work’s been done, for example free to sit outside, $200 to enter, Jennie’s advice? Charm a Banker! Or just sit outside and utilise the table service, which we do, but is this fully compliant? I’m not convinced, so it’s an Australian Ship Broker that we charm instead, however he favours the Lan Kwai Fong bar with the “Morgan Freeman” doorman over the $200 price tag! Plan B – charm the Dragon-i doorman, turns out I only had to ask and he let (just) me inside for a walk-a-round, not that I could see much, very dark and behind the times with the smoking ban! I head straight to the ladies, then keep an eye out for Jackie Chan on my departure. Unimpressed we head to Lan Kwai Fong, locate Morgan and re-unite with the Aussies. I’m challenged to pole dance on the bar and in the words of Barney Stinson – challenge accepted! Not only got me a free drink but also a casino date in the Macau Venetian! Not the first time I’ve needed my passport for a date!
