1. Bodeguita Del Medio – Havana, Cuba

Cocktail – Mojito
White rum, mint, lime, cane sugar, soda

Date Visited – Dec 2016

Where better to start my cocktail journey, and what better to loosen me up for the salsa dancefloor than a $2 Mojito!! December 2006 and my final day in Cuba, with an afternoon jaunt into the old town by 1950’s taxi, I lead my fellow salseras to Bodeguita del Medio, but with people already spilling out onto the streets lunch is soon prioritised. Second attempt is far more successful, we even get seats at the bar, a very rare treat! Quattro Mojitos por favor, and the camarero grabs 4 of the pre-muddled glasses, just add rum and soda, the laid back Cuban way! Research led me to the bar, but unfortunately not to scribbling my name on the wall, nor that of my well received travel companion! Hemingway was leading the way though, right to Floridita!
