I first went to Cannes in 2001 with friends Seema & Jill and Le Loft was certainly the place to go then, so we did! Unfortunately this was three years pre-publication so I didn’t know to have the Riviera Fizz! I wasn’t missing out though as I’m not a fan of champagne cocktails. I tried to re-visit in 2013 but alas it is no more. Memories of my 2001 visit are lots of dancing, getting turfed out of our seats for the VIP guests, and interrogating a local about the celeb activity at the Cannes Film Festival. Apparently they go from hotel to boat to private party and the bystanders only get a very brief glimpse, but I bet the bartenders have a few stories to tell! Oh and our Cannes partying meant that we missed out on seeing the 1-5 Germany v England football match!
