17. Ice at The Four Seasons – Dublin, Ireland

Cocktail – Razzmopolitan
Stoli Razberi, Cointreau, lime, cranberry, raspberries

Date Visited – Jul 2009

Oscar Wilde said work was a curse and he was spot on! Thanks to the credit crunch I was forced to put work before cocktails! A temporary halt to the cocktail tour, just the ‘Emerald Isle’ ticked off this year, not even The Savoy could grace me with a punctual re-launch! Belfast is the prime destination for some Havana Club with my Cuban ‘Big Sis’, but first a brief stopover in Dublin. Home to my Junior School boyfriend, I didn’t need to drink alone in Ireland, I’m sure that scenario is pretty unheard of! Adam however failed to appreciate my dedication to the cause, repeatedly asking, “But why this bar?” I must say I’m inclined to agree with him. The Four Seasons isn’t centrally located so the cocktail detour cost an extra €20 in taxis, the bar was very empty for a post-theatre Thursday night, and the cocktail was an unexciting variation on the Cosmopolitan, but at least it was still on the menu! The venue seems to be dependent on a local event for generating punters, so it was just the one drink for us and then off to party somewhere with a little more Irish charm – Café en Seine!
